Supporting Small Businesses
Being a small business, I love to buy and support other creative small businesses. It is so important to support one another in this industry, whilst encouraging others to shop small. The past couple of months have seen me attending a number of brilliant craft fairs, which has given me the opportunity to buy a few things for myself. I wanted to write a short post on some of my recent buys and favourite small businesses out there.
Recently I had a stall at the Crafty Fox Market up in Leeds. When I was there I picked up a super cute geometric clipboard from Ding Ding. They sell a range of beautiful modern stationery and modern goods. I picked up this Rad Dad card for fathers day, by Katie Housley, who I came across via Instagram. Who makes the most whimsically pretty greeting cards.
The necklace is something I picked up whilst selling at the Craft Fox Market in Shoreditch this year. I've been a fan of Lucie Ellen for some time, so at Crafty Fox I got to meet her in person and picked up this wooden black pendant necklace that i'd had my eye on for some time. She makes lovely jewellery and home-wares using her favourite materials; wood and paper.
The good vibes pin is from Oh No Rachio, which is ran by the very talented Rachel. She creates beautiful homewares and paper goods from her studio in Southampton.
I really love buying prints from small creative businesses. There is nothing better than adorning your walls with hand-painted and illustrated work. I have a small shelf in my studio that I've dedicated to prints from a range of talented creatives.

Before you buy a card or gift for someone from a big chain store, have a look at small creative businesses first. There are a lot of places to look. Etsy is a fantastic online marketplace, full of handmade items from across the world. Lets all support small businesses!
